About Wallace Board Advisory
Consulting Services
Ms
Wallace is founder and Principal of Wallace Consulting, a consultancy
providing board advisory services to corporate and non-profit organizations.
Director Professionalism, Board Structure, CEO Succession, Board Succession
and Non-Financial Risk Management are among the services her firm provides
to a broad base of clients. New York Presbyterian Healthcare System,
International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Swales Aerospace and NStar Gas and
Electric are representative clients. Ms Wallace has served as a director and
advisor on both corporate and non-profit boards and is a member of the
National Association of Corporate Directors, BoardSource and the American
Psychological Association.
While clients appreciate Ms Wallace’s ability to
quickly identify core issues that underlie and perpetuate chronic problems,
it is her no-nonsense approach to the work at hand that allows her to earn
the trust and confidence of her clients. Her candor, sharp insight and
ever-present sense of humor support her no-nonsense approach while keeping
her work in perspective.
Ms. Wallace draws on an unusually rich and varied
skill set that is well suited to navigating the complexities of board
consulting. Prior to establishing Wallace Consulting, Ms Wallace was Vice
President of Management and Leadership Development at Fidelity Investments
Brokerage Company. Before joining Fidelity, she was a Senior Consultant at
Watson Wyatt Worldwide where her areas of expertise were Board Effectiveness
and Leadership Development. Ms Wallace earned both her Masters and Doctorate
degrees in Education from Harvard University, after which she joined
Innovation Associates as a Senior Consultant. While working there with its
founder Peter Senge, author of The Learning Organization, Ms Wallace
developed a keen interest in Systems Theory, which is the basis for her
systemic approach in helping boards resolve complex problems.
While C-level executives are natural candidates for leadership development
work, Wallace Consulting’s primary focus is in the boardroom. Years of
experience in resolving difficult and sensitive matters serve her clients
well. Ms Wallace’s willingness to hold their feet to the fire is key to her
ability to resolve issues that are often highly charged and to work
effectively with clients who are so often resistant.
